Crosspoint Church | Georgetown, TX

Michael Geiger

Pastor

Pastor Mike’s ministry at Crosspoint began in January of 2017, but his roots in ministry stretch back to his childhood in the Bay Area of California where is father served as pastor for nearly 30 years.  He attended California Lutheran High School and took the pre-seminary program in college at Northwestern College in Watertown, Wisconsin. In 1997 he graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary with a Masters of Divinity degree. The highlight of this degree program is eight years of studying Greek and Hebrew to be fully equipped to study God’s Word in the original languages.  This enables each message and Bible study to be firmly grounded in the Word of God and the original meaning brought to teaching and application.

Mike served his internship (vicar year) with Pastor Don Patterson at Holy Word in Austin, TX and was blessed to be part of the groundwork to start a mission church in Georgetown.  This work became Cross & Crown Lutheran Church which was rebranded as Crosspoint Church in 2021).  After 20 years, he came back full circle to serve the community in which he started his ministry.  As some say, “He was not born in Texas, but he got here as quick as he could!”

After graduation from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in 1997, Pastor Mike was assigned to plant a new mission church in Cary, North Carolina.  He served at Tree of Life Lutheran Church for 12 years. (Tree of Life became the daughter church of Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Raleigh, NC.) In 2009, he answered a call to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church & School in Burnsville, MN, where he served as an associate pastor.  One of his main tasks was to take a larger church with a school and reinvigorate a spirit of outreach for the community. He served there for 7.5 years.  (Associate Pastor for Adult Discipleship, Outreach and Worship from 2009-2015 and Lead Pastor from 2015-2016).

He is passionate about preaching and teaching; he is dedicated to helping people grow in their faith and spiritual journey. Mike enjoys gardening, woodworking and metal detecting. He has a love for history and enjoys hands on projects to fix things and make them better.

He married his wife Christy in January of 1998.  She shares his passion for ministry, leadership, and outreach and is a key ministry partner to Pastor Mike, serving alongside in many areas of ministry. She also runs her own Executive & Leadership coaching business, Synergy Strategies, and is an advocate for health and wellness, in a 2nd business with Melaleuca.

The Geiger family, including their two daughters, Mikylie (College at A&M) and Mikenna (High School), enjoys gardening, game nights, and exploring national parks together.

They are excited to meet new people and build connections in Georgetown and at Crosspoint.
