W: Y’SHUA WINDOW

Y’SHUA WINDOW

Yeshua Written in Hebrew Crosspoint Church in Georgetown, TX

Y'shua Window with the Hebrew letters for Jesus' name (AUHSY) or as we would write it, YSHUA, and pronounce it, Y'shua.

The transept window to the left of the altar shows within a circle Jesus' name in Hebrew, Y'shua. Then name comes from the Hebrew verb which means "to save." So we call Jesus the Savior, for that is what his name means. This is the name the disciples referred to when they said "There is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12) May this be the only name we ever proclaim in this church. May this be the only name we trust and love in life and in death. Jesus!

The window also shows our church's name: Cross and Crown. In this it is like the window to the right of the altar. On the crown there are twelve gems shown. These twelve gems are mentioned in the Revelation 21. As near as possible the colors correspond to the colors of the jewels. When the colors are arranged in the composite jewel in the middle of the crown they equal the colors of the spectrum. And we understand that these colors together make white, a symbol of God and his purity.

Window designed and crafted by Pastor Eric S. Hartzel, and installed on March 28, 2009.
