WORSHIP
Sunday is a signature time at Crosspoint to worship, grow in faith and connect with others.
Worship is at 10:00AM. The service is a more relaxed, contemporary format. For children, there is an Unstaffed Parent Nursery room with viewing window to the worship space off the entryway. For younger children we have a Staffed Tots-Nursery for ~Age 1 to 3 for the entire service and Kids Church grades PreK 4 y/o to 2nd grade, where kids start with their families in church and can attend Kids Church from the Sermon to the end of worship.
Service Outline:
Each worship service lasts about an hour. It begins with 2 contemporary worship songs or modern hymn remixes.
Music is lead by at worship music video to allow for clear professional sound in-person and on-line.
After the opening songs there is an opening prayer, reading and confessions, followed by another worship song.
Kids PreK 4-years old to 2nd grade are then dismissed for Kids church and the service continues with the message. A song and communion is
added to the service on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month.
Prayers, a song and announcements wrap up the service
Service Context:
Dress however you are comfortable.
People tend to arrive 10-15min early or during the first song
We have coffee and refreshments to enjoy before and after worship. Feel free to bring your coffee and water with you to worship.
MY KIDS
Have kids? No worries, we've got you covered. We provide childcare from ~1 year old (might be 9 mo. or so, when they are able to be in a play space with other tots) to 9 years old during worship. To read more about our awesome children's ministry, click the button below!
What should I know? What will happen when I visit for the first time?
Church starts at 10, but some people like to come as early as 9:30 to just hang out and connect. Some people arrive during the first songs at 10AM.
People arrive at 8:45 for a Sunday Bible Class and Elementary School / Middle School Bible Study. People arrive for worship around 8:45 and mingle in the entry prior to worship. People arrive
anytime between then at during the first song at 10AM.
Come in what is comfortable for you. Most people are pretty casual in their dress (jeans, shorts, whatever), but if you like to get dressed up in your Sunday best, that is great too!
When you arrive, there are some GUEST PARKING spots near the front, but park wherever you want. Most people come through the front double doors which goes into the entryway and worship space. A greeter is usually at the door to welcome you and help you know where things are (bathrooms, nursery, kids church, etc.) or someone at the welcome center to help you connect and setting in.
(We have handicap parking, ramps and open seating. We have hearing amplification for those with hearing needs. Please email us in advance so we can have it ready for you.
Our atmosphere is more casual and family-freindly. We have coffee and refreshments in the entry before and after worship. Drinks are welcome in church. We usually have a fellowship hour after church, where people often stay and mingle. The environment is casual to socialize or not as much as you want.
Parents Nursery: An UNstaffed nursery is available off the main entry to provide a space for babies, infants and tots to play, moms to nurse or to watch service from a quiet room.
Tot-Nursery: There is a background checked volunteer staffed tot-nursery in the kids area where littles ~ age 1-3 can be dropped off prior to worship or anytime during worship and picked up to 10 min. after woship concludes. Please register prior to drop off.
Kids church: Kids PreK (4 y/o) to 2nd grade, are welcome to stay in worhsip with their family or attend kids church. Kids start with their families in worship and shift to kids church just before the sermon for songs, message, prayers and activites through the end of church. Stop by the kids church area prior to church to register. Parents are also welcome to attend with kids if desired. Kids are picked up by parents after church. See Kids page for more details.
Currently, we have a Small Group Bible Study on Sunday AM at 8:45-9:45 for Elementary School (class for grade 3-5) and Middle School (class for grades 6-8). Our kids ministry program is small but personal and highly relational with the kids. We care about the kids developing a personal relationship with God, knowing their Bible, memorizing scripture and learning how to apply God's Word
to their life.
Our services start with worship songs (since we are a small mission church we do not have a live worship team yet, but are praying for a worship music group). Our music is lead from videos featuring contemporary songs you often here on the radio. We usually stand for the first 2 songs and then pastor will have the group sit to share a scripture reading. We usually have a 3rd song and then pastor dismisses the kids for Kids church. ,Worship continues with the sermon, followed by prayers and on the 1st and 3rd weeks communion. A sermon outline is provided for note taking. You are welcome to bring your bible and notebook if you want. Worship ends with a song. People usually stand during the songs at the top of worship and sit during the rest of the service. Feel free to patriciate as your are able and comfortable. Worship ends with announcements and then Pastor Mike will walk out to greet people as they leave. People leave as they want, some staying to talk to those around them, shift to the entry and patio for refreshments and fellowship, and some leaving after worship.
Services tend to end around 11AM to 11:15AM. Communion Sundays tend to last a little longer.
Both. Live stream is on Boxcast TV and Facebook Live. It is recorded
and posted on the website later on Sunday.
There are “getting started” yellow card at the welcome center and the stand as you enter church. If you you want to leave a prayer, request for more info or any questions, these cards let us connect with you. There is also a service folder on the worship entry stand with an outline for the worship for the day and announcements. Kids sheets are also on the stand to provide an activity as needed or to take home for the week.
We celebrate communion, also referenced as “the Lord’s Supper” on the 1st and 3rd Sunday’s of the month. If you would like to attend communion, please call ahead of time to talk to pastor and establish common confession of faith and view of communion.
We are a smaller mission church, growing in this area. Many people due to age, travel and comfort have enjoyed worshiping online through the live stream while others have a practice of being at church in person weekly… but depending on what is happening our attendance varies.
We believe baptism is a special sacrament where the Holy Spirit works faith in a persons heart. Baptism’s are scheduled after a conversations with Pastor, as desired by an individual. We baptize from infant to adult. We do not believe in the need to rebaptize once baptized.
Since COVID, we do not collect offering during service, rather we have a plate by the worship entry for people to give as they desire.
Stop at the Welcome Center in the entryway to find information on the church, events and resources. For more information about what we believe or other questions, please speak to Pastor Mike.
